I used to say we're an alliance of gamers and blah, blah, blah. It's hogwash. We been together too many months and we're like family. Just not like normal families. Freak shows pay money to see us because we are exotic. Our Women of the WarMongers say things that make truckers blush. I think about all my guild mates, and there ain't one of us right in the head. We're running 60/40 casual to hardcore mix for better horsepower. We've got high school students through grad students. Models and television producers, stock brokers and shelf stockers, community developers and people helping developing countries, military wo/men, pro gamers, game programmers and I think one serial killer. But we all love each other...like 3rd cousins so it's legal, I think.

The War for Charity

The WarMongers fundraises for charity organizations and is active in many "real world" ventures.

Presently the WarMongers are working with Save The Children.

Save the Children is the leading independent organization creating lasting change in the lives of children in need in the United States and around the world.

Best of all, under government awarded the United States for International Development will typically provide $3 for every $1 dollar you provide!

Our last action helped to raise over $25,000 for Aquaverde to help plant trees in the Amazon Rainforest.

Toys R Us - The Place to Be This Week!

It's another buy-two, get the third free bonanza, this time offered by Toys R Us. But it covers their entire game catalog - consoles, handhelds, everything. As you can see, the flyer above says you can pick from 800 games.

The sale will last the entire week. It doesn't sound like it coves pre-orders, but I could be wrong. It also looks like it covers accessories, priced up to $100, and so points cards are covered by that too. But that probably means you have to buy two accessories and get a third free, not mix-and-match games and accessories. Definitely ask your local Toys R Us when planning your strategy.

If you're hanging on what third title to pick, some good advice is to just get a second copy of a brand-new game for free and use it as tradebait for store credit later or flip it on half.com. Either way, they're giving away games. Don't waste the pick.

A Dot Com Gets a New Look.

Took forever to negotiate out the deal to buy this one but it's ours. I will most likely keep www.war-mongers.net forever as it's part of our history, and for saps who don't update their bookmarks. Hopefully this will make us a bit easier for folks to find.
